interjection: word expressing astonishment, surprise or disappointment and whose meaning varies with context Ex: Ene! // Oh my!
izenlagun: my, me Ex: Ene laztana // my darling, ene txakur polita // my pretty dog

My maternal grandmother was the first person I remember saying ene. I had no idea what it meant so I thought it was her way of cussing in a way us kids would not understand. Now that I am taking Euskara classes I finally found out what it meant! Every time I hear or say it, it reminds me of her and how much I miss her now that she is gone. Love you Muma!!
