There is a very popular children’s song, called tximeleta mendian “the butterfly on the mountain” I vividly recall my wife singing this song to my son when he was much younger. This story is how I learned that tximeleta is the word for butterfly. However, I also learned that there are many more wonderful words in Euskara that also mean butterfly.
