different, distinct, disparate

I was looking for an Euskal word to describe myself, as growing up I often was considered as just another Spanish descendant, who never fit in. I felt different from the Anglos, Mexicans, Natives and the rest, but once I embraced my Euskal ancestry, being different made oso much sense; and then “desberdin” proudly became like a new name for me.

I'm now beyond that phase and ready for a new favorite word, but becoming “desberdin”, is kind of like my jaiotza ipuina, and maybe others in the diaspora have felt the same.
